Resurrection School - New Annex - 1957
|
Here is a photo from 1957 showing the new annex recently opened at Resurrection Elementary School. Built to ease overcrowding in the main school, which had been in use since 1912, the annex contained six new classrooms. The new addition was soon enlarged in to include several more new classrooms, meeting rooms and a gymnasium. Due to lack of funds for renovations, Resurrection Elementary closed its doors in the mid-1990s. The school buildings are still used for various social functions and some classrooms are used for Sunday school, but the glory days of Resurrection Elementary and the Ressi Raiders are gone ... but definitely not forgotten. The school served Brookline Catholic children for over eighty years, and many generations will remember their school days at Ressi. |
