Charlie McLaughlin has been a Brookline Boulevard figurehead for many years, first with the McLaughlin Insurance Agency, and since 1985 as the District Justice of the 19th Ward. From his office at 736 Brookline Boulevard, Charlie handles his Justice's duties as well as chairing the Neighborhood Blockwatch Program. He is active in the Brookline Chamber of Commerce. His office door is always open and if you have a legal dispute, you can get an honest opinion.

The photo below shows Charlie, third from left, in May 1984 inspecting new parking meters on Brookline Boulevard along with Jim Moran, Jim Mongelli, and Meter Maid Ruby White. In the final photo, from October 1984, he is presenting a citation from the State House of Representatives to Phyllis Carver, longtime Brookline resident, for her many years of service as secretary of the Chamber of Commerce.
