This picture shows the telephone pole sections that were placed along the outfield fence to keep balls and kids from falling through and down into the ravine. Erosion along the Senior League fenceline was so severe that new logs were placed in position nearly every year. Some of the erosion holes were so large you could literally slide right through, as witnessed in the photo below. It's amazing no one was hurt playing. Many a ground-rule double rolled down into the woods after finding the hole.
