Here is a picture of the new Wabash Railroad abutment at the corner of West Liberty Avenue and Pioneer Avenue in July of 1915. The railroad overpass is nearing completion, and soon the street will be widened slightly to accomodate both vehicular and trolley traffic. At the end of West Liberty Avenue is a dead end where the Liberty Tubes now stand. It will be another four years before construction of the tunnels begins.
