West Liberty Avenue at Pioneer - Oct 1915.

Where's the
 Tunnels?

Here is another picture of West Liberty Avenue near the intersection with Pioneer Avenue, after the work on the new railroad abutment was completed. This photo was taken in October of 1915. The street widening is also finished and it looks like it's a little easier to get down to Saw Mill Run. However, to get to downtown Pittsburgh would still take about another hour. Go down to Saw Mill Run, make a left and head to the nearest incline, which will hoist your vehicle up to Mount Washington. Then take another incline down the other side. Another decade will pass before the Liberty Tunnels would open and traveling to the city will become infinitely simpler.
