Here are three photos from 1925 showing the laying of a new 42 inch sewer line at the intersection of West Liberty Avenue and Saw Mill Run Road, near the entrance to the Liberty Tunnels. The modern sewage line was needed to accomodate the extensive residential growth of the South Hills area.
