Here are a series of five photos showing the covers of real estate brochures issued by the Freehold Real Estate Company, the firm responsible for the majority of home sales at that time. The East Brookline area had just been developed and the Liberty Tunnel opening provided quick and easy access to the downtown area. Brookline was growing, and these brochures tout the many benefits of the suburban life in Brookline. They are an interesting look back at the perception of suburbia that prevailed at the time.
