Here's another view of the section of Brookline Boulevard at Breining Street showing the dangerous intersection and the narrow driving lanes. Citizens had been trying for years to get the steel poles removed from the street side, and once again were circulating a petition to be presented to Pittsburgh Mayor David L. Lawrence, citing the dangers the poles presented to drivers on this section of the boulevard, scene of numerous accidents. This time the City responded and the poles were soon removed. |
